DETROIT – A winter weather advice is effective for Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne counties from 12 midnight, tonight until 10pm Sunday.
Welcome to Saturday night, Motown.
Set up your snow throwers or limb for snow digging. Snow is on its way before the weekend is over. This evening remains dry and cold. Temps remains well below freezing throughout the region tonight. Snow arrives shortly after midnight. Roads and sidewalks become more treacherous on Sunday, with the biggest snow during breakfast.
Saturday night it will be cloudy and cold with steady speeds in the top 20s. Our next snowstorms will be brewing in our southwest. The first flakes begin at 10 p.m., south of I-94, in Lenawee and Monroe County, and thereafter.
Saturday night it will snow over Detroit and the rest of southeast Michigan shortly after midnight and until Sunday morning. Lowest overnight will be in the mid 20s.

Snow will migrate from south to north overnight. After our South Zone, Detroit and Ann Arbor roads become smoother, then the areas north of Eight Mile Road become snowier in the early hours of Sunday. In the cities of Flint, Lapeer and Port Huron, breakfast will fall on Sunday.
Sunday will be snowy and cold. Snow will fall hardest on Sunday morning. Light to moderate snow will often fall late Sunday morning and most of the afternoon. Snow is spreading a little more late Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening. Highlights will be in the low thirties.
Sunday night it will be less snowy, but it will remain cold – roads will therefore remain treacherous. Then the wind will kick in from the north due to the circle counterclockwise around the low pressure area. The wind from Lake Huron, which is mostly liquid, produces snow showers and snow showers on the lake on Monday.
Accumulations will be greater once the snow starts. Neighborhoods south of I-94 will receive four to six inches of snow; isolate spots, more than six centimeters. From I-94 (to the south) and M-59 (to the north), Detroit, Westland, Ann Arbor to Howell, Pontiac, Shelby Township, and Mt. Clemens will get two to four inches. One to three inches of snow fall north of the M-59.

Highlights will be near 30 degrees on Monday afternoon, as snow in the lake adds another one to three inches of snow in most of the area.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunnier and will give Detroiters time to clean up and recover. Remember not to exert yourself too much. Start fast and take regular breaks while removing snow and ice. Highlights are in the low thirties, mid-week, with mostly to partly sunny skies.
