Hearthstone’s new expansion is about the beloved Barrens of World of Warcraft

The next Herdsteen expansion is on the way, and it brings the collectible card game back to one of World of Warcrafts most iconic zones. Forged in the Barrens is an expansion with 135 new maps taking place in the Horde zone the Barrens, just outside the Orcs city of Orgrimmar.

Forged in the Barrens brings a new keyword to the game: Frenzy. Cards with Frenzy have a one-time effect that causes a subversive damage for the first time.

The Barrens are where Trolls, Orcs and Tauren all spend time ascending, and the area is notorious for being absolutely massive, making missions such as finding Mankrik’s wife quite dangerous. If you add a chaotic general chat, the Barrens remain a highlight of the classic World of Warcraft experience. Since it’s a Horde-centric expansion, new maps will feature characters such as the troll shadow hunter Vol’jin.

Forged in the Barrens arrives with a large series of upheavals after Herdsteen. There is a new “Core Set” that replaces the basic and classic sets. The Core Set is a mix of cards from previous expansions, rebalanced cards that are popular with the community, and some brand new cards like Ysera the Dreamer or Malygos the Spellweaver. Herdsteen‘s Core Set is completely free and is easy for players to pick up and play. The original version of rasterized maps will be available with the new variants in Wild mode without any hindrance.

There are also new game schools, with all the different spells in the game organized in Arcane, Fire, Frost, Holy, Nature, Shadow and Fel. This will “expand possibilities for game swing Herdsteen players and will be added retrospectively to the previously released playing cards. ”

If there is too much information to take in, there is a new classic format Herdsteen back to its balance sheet in 2014. Much like World of Warcraft Classic, Herdsteen will balance after some time back before the Curse of Naxxramas expansion. This classic mode is for players who prefer the early balance of the game, or want to visit for a while without so many keywords, card combinations or the Demon Hunter class.

Finally, Hearthstone Mercenaries is a new game mode Herdsteen in 2021. Mercenaries is a strategy RPG that builds on the game’s single-player campaigns and the Book of Heroes, which feature fairly long stories through a series Herdsteen fights.

Hearthstone Mercenaries introduces players to a set of new characters, and players level them up through successive battles. Over time, players will need to learn which characters go well together and set up specific character combinations to get the best harder fights. Mercenaries joins Battlegrounds, an automatic chess variant, and the Duels for player-to-player glove as a new Herdsteen game mode supported long-term by developers.
