ANTONIC PERRIE: So we were setting up a three-day mass vaccination clinic. Finally, we have six left over that we would apply to Public Health again. On the way back you got stuck at Haze Hill, right at the foot of the pass. I think a tractor trailer collided, and Mike Weber, director of public health, made the remark. Hello, do we want to start running these doses?

We just laughed at it at first. Yes, actually, yes, because they are about to expire. We have to get them ready before 6:00, otherwise we will not be able to get it right. It was about 3:00 at the time. And that’s what we did. Do we have shots? Yes. Do we have paperwork? Yes. Do we have the plaster, alcohol preparation, the whole nine meters? Going through the checklist, had it all.

So we had a group of five who basically just walked up and down and ended up delivering all six vaccines in the snow. I know myself personally, I will not be able to go to sleep at night, knowing that instead of us getting out and doing everything in our power to get rid of these vaccines, it will just be thrown away.

And so – so I think it’s the biggest aspect to just know that the community wants it, that they need it, and if we have it, you know, if it needs us to get some snow on us , it should be too. We are going to adapt and overcome and help in any way.
