A little over a year after the release of her debut solo album Petals, Hayley Williams did it again. On Friday, February 5 at midnight, Williams released her second solo album FLOWERS for VASES / descanos. The fourteen-track album by the Paramore frontwoman is produced by Daniel James, mixed by Carlos de la Garza, and mastered by Heba Kadry. It features the newly released track “My Limb” that Williams sent to a fan in Nashville who leaked the song with Williams’ permission. Williams, which was recently the subject of A Vulture In conversation, said her latest album is not a sequel to her debut album, despite the similar floral image. ‘It’s not really a sequel to Petals, ” Williams said in a statement. ‘If it’s something, it’s a prediction or a detour between part 1 and 2 of Petals. The meaning of the album as a whole is perhaps quite different from diving into each song in particular. Williams recently made headlines after publicly criticizing former Paramore bandmate Josh Farro for his anti-gay FaceBook remarks leading up to the 2020 election, tweeting: “there is a reason there are only 3 people in @paramore. surprise, haters, that’s not my business.
