The Hawaii Department of Health said in a news release that three coronavirus-related deaths were on Oahu and Maui today.
The most recent deaths included an Oahu woman in her 50s, an Oahu man in his 50s and a Maui man in his 60s – all with underlying health conditions when they were admitted to hospital with COVID-19. state health officials said.
No other details were immediately available about the new infections of today.
Meanwhile, city officials today confirmed that another driver of TheBus on Oahu tested positive for COVID-19. The Department of Education also confirmed that a student at Lanai High & Elementary in Lanai City tested positive for COVID-19.

Hawaii health officials today reported three new coronavirus-related deaths and 106 new infections, bringing the total to 312 deaths and 23,733 cases since the pandemic began.
No further details were immediately available on the latest coronavirus-related deaths.
The state’s official death toll includes 244 deaths on Oahu, 45 on Hawaii Island, 19 on Maui, one on Kauai and three Hawaii residents who died on the continent.
The US coronavirus mortality rate today was above 381,000, and the total number of coronavirus cases across the country is now 22.9 million.
Officials said the new nationwide health infections today have diagnosed 73 in Oahu, 11 on Maui, seven on the Big Island, two in Kauai and 13 state residents outside Hawaii.
The statistics released today reflect the new infection cases reported to the department on Monday.
The total number of cases of coronavirus per island since the onset of the outbreak is 19,462 on Oahu, 2037 in Hawaii, 1,342 on Maui, 169 on Kauai, 106 on Lanai and 25 on Molokai. There are also 592 residents of Hawaii who have been diagnosed outside the state.
Hawaii health officials said today that 2,292 cases of the state’s total infection count are considered active. Health officials say they have considered a “proxy number for active cases” for the past 14 days due to infections. The number of active cases in the state decreased by 13 today.
Per island, Oahu has 1,690 active cases, Maui has 414, the Big Island has 164 and Kauai has 24, according to the latest version of the state. Lanai has no active COVID cases.
In the current score, health officials counted 4,819 new COVID-19 test results for a positive rate of 2.20% across the country. The state’s average average positivity rate of 7 days is 3.2%, according to the Hawaii COVID-19 Data dashboard.
Of all the confirmed cases of Hawaii infection, 1,580 required hospitalizations, with 19 new hospitalizations reported today by state health officials.
Four counties in the census are Hawaii residents who have been diagnosed and treated outside the state. Of the 1,576 hospitalizations in the state, 1390 were on Oahu, 92 on the Big Island, 81 on Maui, seven on Kauai, five on Lanai and one on Molokai.
According to the latest information from the Hawaii COVID-19 Data dashboard of the department, 116 patients with the virus were in Hawaii hospitals today at 8:30 a.m., 26 in intensive care units and 22 in ventilators.
State health officials have begun posting the total number of vaccinations administered across the country. As of today, the department said 40,386 individuals had been vaccinated – including 25,613 in Honolulu County, 4,182 in Maui County, 4,251 in Hawaii County and 2,740 in Kauai County. The vaccination numbers are updated weekly.
Oahu will move to the less-restricted Level 2 of the four-tier economic recovery plan in Honolulu on October 22. To determine if Honolulu will move to another level, the city takes a “weekly review” of two major COVID-19 numbers every Wednesday. . To move to Level 3 from Level 2, the average of 7 days on two consecutive Wednesdays must be below 50. The average positivity rate of 7 days should also be below 2.5% on these two Wednesdays.
According to Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, who said last week that Oahu would stay on Tier 2, the current seven days for Oahu are 137 and the seven-day positive percentage is 4.1%.
