Harvard astronomer believes alien debris surpassed Earth in 2017

(CBS / WVLT) – A Harvard University professor has released a new book, suggesting that humans are probably not alone in the universe.

CBS4 reports that astronomer Avi Loeb’s book “Extraterrestrial” looks at the 2017 flight of a space object that he said was strange.

“Initially, people thought it must be a rock, just like the asteroids or comets we saw before in the solar system,” said Paula Ebben, CBSN in Boston. “But because they get more information about it, it seems very strange.”

The object, cigar-shaped, was seen through telescopes and was called “Oumuamua”, meaning “a messenger reaching out from the distant past” in Hawaii. Researchers at the time said it was ten times as long as it was wide and was traveling at a speed of 196,000 km / h.

“It did not yet look like a comet, but also like something that has extra pressure,” Loeb said.

CBS4 reports that NASA has confirmed that it is ‘the first object in our solar system known to have originated elsewhere’. However, its origin is unknown.

Loeb argues in the book that the object was probably debris from advanced alien technology. It could, according to him, be a kind of “light sail” powered by sunlight.

“It is possible that there is a lot of space junk, or that it is a sin,” he said. “We do not know because we have not collected enough data, enough evidence, and I warn everyone to look for such objects so that we will examine them more closely next time.”

CBS4 reports that researchers should look for objects such as these instead of just searching for radio signals.
