Harsin Brings Boise Strength Coach Jeff Pitman to Auburn

Bryan Harsin made his first official hire of his first Auburn staff.

Auburn’s new head coach brings strength and conditioning coaches Jeff Pitman from Boise State to the Plains, Harsin announced Tuesday night. Pitman also worked with Harsin when he was the Arkansas head coach in 2013. In general, he has held the position in Harsin’s staff for the past eight seasons.

“Coach Pitman is bringing three decades of collegiate strength coaching and player development to Auburn,” Harsin said in a statement. ‘He was an instrumental part of many championship teams and players he worked with, letting their time with him praise Coach Pitman for developing them as soccer players and men. Pitman replaces Ryan Russell, who has served as head coach of Auburn since 2013. Harsin prefers not to retain Russell early this week.

A Boise State graduate, like Harsin, was Pitman’s first tournament as the Broncos’ 1999-2006 power and conditioning coach. He also holds positions in the state of Montana (1995-97), Minnesota (1994), San Jose State (1997-99), Colorado (2007-10) and West Carolina (2011-12) before Harsin’s rods are held.
