Harry Brant, fashion model and the son of supermodel Stephanie Seymour and businessman Peter Brant, has died at the age of 24.
His family announced the news of his untimely death with a statement to the New York Times revealing that the cause was an accidental overdose of medication.
“We will be forever sad that his life was cut short by this devastating disease,” the family told the outlet. “He’s achieved a lot in his 24 years, but we’ll never get a chance to see how much more Harry could have done.”
He apparently struggled with addiction for years.

Born to wealthy parents, Harry spent his youth in the world of art and fashion. He was an important part of many fashion shows and even attended the famous Met Gala at the age of 16. According to People, he modeled for the Italian Vogue and Balmain campaigns. However, he also dabbled in journalism and as a teenager became a writer for his father’s magazine Interview. In addition, he and his brother, Peter, released a unisex makeup series with MAC in 2015 and 2016.

Harry was committed to breaking down barriers and challenging typical ideas of masculinity in the fashion world. In 2012, Vanity Fair spoke and the then 15-year-old explained his early fashion sense.
“When I really started getting fashionable, I had this obsession with mostly women’s clothing, and still do,” he explained. ‘I think I just fell in love with the ideal of how iconic fashion is – especially how it used to be, the power that all fashionistas had and the glamor of traveling with a Louis Vuitton steamer, with the New Look Dior dress with the big hats – so fantastic that I just fell in love. ‘

Harry and his brother were often announced for their irreconcilable willingness to possess their immense privilege. Vanity Fair calls him ‘Little Lord Fauntleroy’ and New York Magazine once named the two brothers ‘NYC’s Most Beautiful Teen Brothers’.
The Times reports that Harry was arrested in Greenwich, Connecticut, in 2016 for refusing to pay a taxi fare and that he was charged at the time with aggravated assault with an officer and drug possession.
Despite a few setbacks to his reputation, Harry was considered a pioneer in the fashion world before his death. Many quickly went to social media to glorify him after his family announced his death.

“I was so obsessed with Harry and Peter Brant at one point in my life – it’s so sad he lost his battle with drugs. Disappointed face, you never know when a little more will be the last and it’s which is scary #RIPHarryBrant, ” another person wrote.

In addition to his brother, Harry is survived by a younger sister, an older half-brother from his mother’s previous marriage and four half-brothers and sisters on his father’s side. Another half-sister, Ryan Brant, passed away in 2019 at the age of 49.

“Harry was not just our son,” the family concluded in their statement. “He was also a wonderful brother, loving grandson, favorite uncle and a caring friend. He was a creative, loving and powerful soul who brought light into so many people’s hearts. He was truly a beautiful person from within and from the outside. “
