Prince Harry, a military veteran, founded Invictus Games in 2014. The event provides athletics events for injured service members.
The series with multiple deliveries, a partnership between Archewell Productions and The Invictus Games Foundation, will follow the event’s contestants and organizers.
“I could not be more excited for the journey ahead or proud of the Invictus community for continually inspiring global healing, human potential and continued service,” Prince Harry said in a statement. He will serve as executive producer of the series and appear on camera.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Archewell Productions team are building an ambitious lead that reflects the values and makes them precious,” Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said in a statement Monday. ‘From the moment I met them, it was clear that the Invictus Games had a very special place in their hearts, and I could not be happier that their first series for Netflix would show it to the world in a way that never been seen before. “
