Just days after the Harris County waiting list was issued, Judge Lina Hidalgo announced that as of 11:00 a.m. Thursday, 146,000 people had signed up on their waiting list website to get the COVID-19 vaccine. So far, 29,000 vaccines have been administered in the country.

“We continue to work efficiently. We need to be patient. Most people will probably only have enough stock in late spring or summer. But we are doing what we can to ensure that there is a fair and equitable approach. This will not be resolved overnight, ‘Hidalgo said.
During Thursday’s conference, Hidalgo added that the province will run out of its entire stock by the end of the week, but to anyone concerned about their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, Hidalgo said you should not worry.

“You will be scheduled for the second dose,” she said. “This week we have already done about 4,000 doses. We have a system in Harris County to keep up with. We have been assured by the state and the federal government that we will continue to receive doses.”
Harris County is receiving about 9,000 doses a week and they hope to get 30,000 a week soon.
“We continue to demand more doses from the federal government and state. We need supply chains to catch up,” she said.
