Hans Zimmer, the legendary composer of The Lion King, Getting Started, and other iconic soundtracks, brought his epic compositions to a new sound medium: telephone sounds. Yes, Hans Zimmer created a ringtone and other phone noises for Oppo’s latest flagship, the Find X3 Pro, and they’s amazing.
The fact that Zimmer made these ringtones is not news. Oppo made a big deal about his involvement in March and posted a video interview with him and a whole song he just composed for Oppo (called “Colorful Future”, if you’re wondering) on his YouTube channel. But these videos do not have what I wanted to hear: the actual Zimmer-composed sounds in themselves.
So I asked an oppo PR representative if they could send the tone to my side, and they did. Now I can not stop listening to them.
I have embedded them in this post so you can hear it too.
Ringtone
Here’s the ringtone made by Zimmer – it’s beautiful. As my colleague Ian Carlos Campbell said, “Does he want me to cry every time the phone rings?”
“I want the ringtone to open a door that says there is a possibility of feeling something,” Zimmer said in the video interview with Oppo about the ringtone. It worked, Hans.
Alarm
Here is the alarm tone compiled by Zimmer. It sounds like waking up with a sunrise on the beach.

Notification sound
And here is a general notification sound, which I would like all my programs to use in future, thank you.
It’s so good that I’m now hoping Google or Apple will work with Zimmer to refresh their phone sounds. (Imagine Zimmer using the iPhone’s classic Marimba ringtone.)
I recommend watching Zimmer’s full interview on Oppo’s YouTube channel, where he describes how he hears colors. Honestly, I believe it.
