Fox News host Sean Hannity reprimanded Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell R-Ky on Monday for speaking out against former President Donald Trump after he voted at the weekend to acquit him in his indictment.
The ‘Hannity’ host, in his opening monologue, referred to “Republicans who turned their backs on the former president” and specifically pointed to the “holy” McConnell, as well as the seven Republican lawmakers who voted to incite Trump to incite the Jan 6th Capitol riot.
‘Where was John Thune? [R-S.D.] and Mitch McConnell fights the biggest abuse of power corruption scandal in our history with Operation Crossfire Hurricane? Asked Hannity.
“They are missing in action. Where are Saints Mitch McConnell, John Thune demanding that Kamala Harris, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters – when is he going to give a speech on the Senate floor and hold the Democrats responsible for their incitement? “of rebellion and their language like the rebellion? The time is now coming for new leadership in the US Senate.”
MCCONNELL RIPS TRUMP, S AC ACTIONS ‘UNRELIABLE’ BUT TRIAL WAS UNSTITUTIONAL
Sens Richard Burr of North Carolina, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania joined with all Democrats to convict Trump.
Their vote indicates how ‘way out’ they are with the IDP base, Hannity said, pointing to the immediate setback they are now facing in their home states.
