‘Hangry’ Chick-fil-A customer slaps by stopping suspect from running towards police

A helpful but ‘hungry’ customer helped police officers in Jacksonville, Texas, by opening his truck door and beating a man who was chasing them into a driveway.

Jacksonville police said they were chasing a male suspect in a stolen vehicle when the suspect got out of the vehicle and started running from officers at a Chick-fil-A.

Surveillance footage shared by police Wednesday showed how quick reflexes ended the chase outside the fast food restaurant.

“Today, Jacksonville police officers tried to stop a man in a stolen vehicle. The suspect ran through the Chick-Fil-A parking lot. A hungry customer who was patiently waiting for his chicken sandwich used her door. to stop the suspect, “the department said in a message on social media.

Footage shows the man standing in the queue opening his door the moment the suspect ran past, causing him to lose balance and fall to the side while two officers closed for an arrest. The man in the vehicle is shortly afterwards looked at the suspicious suspect while one officer starts handcuffing the individual from the chase.

Police did not say what charges the suspect faces. The identity of the man who helped stop the suspect was also not disclosed.

The department added in its statement: “The suspect was quickly apprehended after the ‘HANGRY’ (but helpful) citizen reminded the suspect why you should never run from the police.”
