Halo Infinite will not have double or playable elite – but you can repel enemies from the Halo ring

Halo Infinite will not contain any of the previous features of the series, such as dual or playable Elites, but it does contain a very new feature – you can repel enemies from the edge of the Halo ring yourself. a fan question, in which a number of questions are answered by members of the team. The most unexpected answer certainly comes in the form of an answer to the question of whether enemies of the new Zeta Halo environment can be defeated.

“The answer is yes,” replied Troy Mashburn, game director, who presented an anecdote about it: “I can only tell you recently that I played in space, and I happened to be driving in a Scorpion tank. I came around the corner and was face to face with a Wraith [tank], and just out of pure luck, pure coincidence, I managed to push the Wraith over the edge and just see it slowly tilt backwards and just fall into the abyss, which is incredible, unexpected and just such a cool moment that happened .. So absolutely, you can push things off the edge. It’s going to be tough, but if you can get it right, you’ll see it. ‘

As John Junyszek, community manager, made it clear, this is a brand new idea for a Halo game and feels in line with his quest to be a more sandbox-y, open experience than previous games. The answers also cover the facts that the game will have a day-and-night cycle (affecting the enemies you encounter), dynamic weather, multiple biomes and subbiomes, audio files to discover, and tracks that reflect the equipment that you have wear, and the time of day you start.

Although Halo Infinite clearly brings a lot of new features, some older people will not deliver a return. Double-handed weapons, for example, did not make it. Quinn Delhoyo, chief cabinet designer, explained:

“It’s not on the map at the moment … If you want to make a match the size of Halo Infinite, there are just so many things you can do. I think we have a very talented team where “We can do anything, but we can. It will not do everything. So we really wanted to focus on the rifle, grenades, melee – and this time we wanted to make an effort to bring equipment back.”

Delhoyo was also asked about another older feature – playable Elites, which was available in previous Halo campaigns and multiplayer modes. They will also not return:

“Similar to the last answer, no, we do not plan to support Elites as a playable character – and the reason for this is that it’s a Master Chief story, and a Spartan story, especially in multiplayer. We want to make sure we focus on how Spartans fight each other, and that it feels fair, and competitive, balanced. We love Elites – never say, maybe we’ll see it one day – but right now the current plan is that you going to play Spartans. ‘For those interested in Infinite, it’s worth checking out the full Q&A – 343 have a very to say about the upcoming Halo game, and it’s a good look at the design ideas behind the game, and how it’s improved since the infamous delay last year.

The game is now planned for the fall of 2021, and the multiplayer mode will play for free. If you can’t wait for more Halo, there’s a way to … taste the series now – Pringles has released a flavor that tastes like an extinct animal from Halo: Reach.
