Halo co-creator Disintegration Studio V1 Interactive shuts down • Eurogamer.net

Less than a year after the launch of the debut game.

Developer V1 Interactive, the studio founded by Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, has announced that it will close less than a year after the launch of its debut game Disintegration.

Lehto founded V1 Interactive in 2016, and Disintegration – a scientific blend of first-person shooter and real-time strategy game set against a futuristic backdrop of climate change, pandemic and war – launched in June last year.

Unfortunately, the game’s multiplayer component – backed by a real money game in the game – struggled to find a significant enough audience, and V1 finally decided to end multiplayer support in November, just five months into the game. ‘s life.

Now, however, in a statement posted on official V1 Interactive Twitter stream, it was confirmed that the studio itself will shut down.

“We are sorry to inform you that V1 Interactive is officially closing,” the developer wrote. “We want to thank all the talented people at V1, both past and present, who have helped make the past 5 years wonderful. And heartfelt thanks to the wonderful community that has supported us.”

Lehto expanded the announcement in a separate pos on his personal Twitter feed and writes that the studio’s priority “was the well-being of our employees”.

“We have been transparent with them for months about the state of affairs,” he continued, “and are now making this decision so that they still have enough time to look for new work while being supported by our studio.”
