Hailey Baldwin opens on about marrying Justin Bieber at a ‘crazy young’ age: ‘We saw a lot’

Hailey Baldwin begins marriage at age 21.

The now 24-year-old model recently opened up to Elle about the knot with Justin Bieber in 2018 and what it was like to take the plunge into marriage at such a young age.

“I was married when I was 21, two months before I turned 22, which is insanely young,” Baldwin said. “And it sounds almost ridiculous when you say it out loud.”

“Although I do think for someone like me and someone like Justin, [it’s different]”she continued.” We have seen a lot for our age. We both lived enough lives to know this is what we wanted. ‘

Baldwin, who appears on the cover of Elle’s April issue, also discusses the lack of anonymity she and Bieber (now 27) faced in the early days of their marriage.

“In the beginning of our marriage, I just wanted to hide,” Baldwin admitted. “I was like, ‘I do not want people to be like that in my business. I feel that everyone in my a -. I was like, ‘Can there be no anonymity? Can I get some of it back? ‘

The media barrage and public inquiry eventually became so prevalent that Baldwin permanently turned off comments on her Instagram account.

‘I remember someone telling me that [turning off the public comments] really lowers your involvement. And I was like, ‘I could talk a little bit about engagement! People terrorize me. Involvement, involvement. I do not care! ” Baldwin said.

In February, Baldwin appeared in an episode of Women’s Health UK’s ‘Going for Goal’ and revealed that she sees a therapist ‘consistently’ to deal with the tension of fame and the negativity that accompanies it.

“The way I dealt with a lot of attention, negative attention, lies and just media in general, I talked to a therapist a lot,” she explained. “I do therapy consistently. I think it helped a lot to be able to process those things and process those feelings.”

Baldwin also mentioned that exercise, prayer and social media apps from her phone are also other ways she can be in the spotlight – and note that she has stopped reading comments online.

“I do not read comments. I have turned off my comments on my personal page, so only people I follow can comment. It has actually changed a lot for me because I know all the people I follow will just positive in the comments. “

“I think for a while it was like people made me feel like I had to explain to myself if the reality is I don’t owe them anything,” Baldwin added.
