A group of hackers named REvil stole and published the blueprints of Apple supplier Quanta Computer and owned other blueprints under a ransom of $ 50 million, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday.

The hackers reportedly released design details for a new MacBook on Tuesday when Apple held a product launch event for new devices, including the iMac, iPad Pro and an updated Apple TV.

An Apple spokesman was not immediately available for comment.

If the hackers have the files, it could mean that some of Apple’s hardware plans may come to light before Apple is ready to release the devices. Apple probably has a myriad of new devices, from anticipated products like new iPhones and computers to new categories of devices, such as glasses with augmented reality. Quanta Computer manufactures some of Apple’s Mac products.

Quanta has confirmed an attack on Bloomberg, saying it is working with law enforcement. The company also said there was no material impact on the company’s business operations.

REvil has reportedly claimed to have other blueprints of products and will continue to publish photos and documents of future Apple devices on a daily basis, unless Apple pays the $ 50 million ransom.
