Gwyneth Paltrow hid at home after her first Oscar win

In 1999, Gwyneth Paltrow had just won her first Oscar, but instead of celebrating, she says she’s actually hiding from the rest of the world.

Gwyneth, who was 26 at the time, won the award for Best Actress for her starring role in Shakespeare in love, but did not expect to win at all.

On a recent episode of Anna Faris is unqualifiedGwyneth says she was actually ’embarrassed’ about the nomination before the ceremony.

It was the strangest and most surreal time. You’re also ashamed that you’d been nominated for an Oscar and you have fraudulent syndrome and you think, ‘I can not even believe it’s happening. well. Does everyone hate me? “I was like, ‘Well, of course, I’m not going to win, but it’s cool too,’ Gwyneth explained.

Gwyneth added that although everyone in LA was “so supportive” after her victory, the attention on her quickly became overwhelming.

“I remember winning and feeling like the tide, and there was this feeling of when you had so much attention to you and so much energy, it was really, overwhelming,” she said.

“I remember staying with my parents in their house in Santa Monica, and I hid only three weeks after that. It was so intense,” Gwyneth revealed.

And at a time when fans were expecting Gwyneth to achieve her success, she says she was actually ‘lonely’.

“Lonely is the right word, it was really weird,” Gwyneth concluded.

While Gwyneth did not take a step away from acting for several years, she recently revealed that she knew at that age that she was “not that fond of acting.”

As for Gwyneth’s future acting opportunities, she says she ‘literally never catches’ the bug again.
