As the pandemic ushered in a new era of virtual restaurants and haunted kitchens, Guy Fieri began opening delivery stores across the country. Fieri, the host of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, has opened three locations in Chicago in the suburbs. Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen offers hearty fried foods such as cheese steak egg rolls, burgers and bacon-packed jalapeños filled with andouille and pimento cream.
Appetizers include delicacies like chicken parmesan with pepperoni and a Cajun chicken Alfredo. While Chicago is not ready for the treasures of Flavortown, customers in Lombard, Orland Park and Wheeling have been granted such luxuries. It’s a partnership with Virtual Dining Concepts, a company with restaurants backed by bodies like Mario Lopez (Saved by the Bell) and singer Mariah Carey. Although he was not connected, rapper Wiz Khalifa debuted on HotBox last year by Wiz in Chicago with a similar formula.

Fieri regularly visited Chicago in his TV show. He joins places like Smoque, BopNGrill and Big N Little’s. As the pandemic hurt the restaurant industry, Fieri showed a charity raising money for the workers behind the restaurants he highlighted. Also impressive is his friendship with Smash Mouth’s Steve Harwell – the two have a strange resemblance. Hey man – last year Fieri was even in Chicago to attend the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.
The chain now has restaurants in 31 states, plus Washington, DC
