GTA Online teases new 2021 content

GTA Online had by all standards an extremely successful 2020. According to developer Rockstar Games, the Grand Theft Auto, which is the only player, has managed to break records for the number of players and video views on various platforms, with the relatively recent addition of The Cayo Perico Heist, which definitely helps matters. As part of a short note thanking players, Rockstar Games also teased new content for the title.

More specifically, the message from Rockstar Games offers players ‘to be on the lookout for more festive events in the near future for the chance to get new equipment, bonus GTA $ and a free vehicle in GTA Online,’. What exactly it looks like has yet to be seen, but it sounds like the free content updates will stay on throughout 2021, and that the developer still has some surprises in store.

This is relatively common for Grand Theft Auto Online add new vehicles and free bonuses. Given that Grand Theft Auto V expected on Xbox Series X this year | S and PlayStation 5 will launch, it just seems natural that a content update with the next generation will be released.

Grand Theft Auto Online, which is often called simple GTA Online, is the online multiplayer component released alongside Grand Theft Auto V back in 2013. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S versions are expected to be launched this year. It still receives free updates that vary in size and meaning, but maintains a large player base.
