In May, the couple welcomed their son, who they initially called X Æ A-12. “In the first place, my partner is the one who actually came up with the name … Yes, she’s very good with names,” Musk told Joe Rogan this month.

Regarding its pronunciation, Musk explained: ‘I mean, it’s just X, the letter X. And then the Æ’ is pronounced ‘as’. Yes. And then A-12 is my contribution. ‘

Grimes gave more details about the name on Twitter and explain that X means the “unknown variable” and Æ for “love and / or artificial intelligence”.

Later that month, the couple changed their son’s name to X Æ A-Xii.

During an interview with the New York Times last year the couple referred to their son as ‘Little X’ or ‘Lil Nas X’. Musk told the point of sale that he was taking a back seat during the newborn period. “There’s not much I can do,” he said, adding that Grimes “now has a much bigger role than I do.”

Musk added: ‘I think babies are super cool and people really need to get more babies because it sounds obvious, but if people do not have enough babies, humanity will disappear. Well, babies just eat and poop machines, you know? ‘
