The caption is a reference to the Netflix series The last kingdom, which Grimes joked about a week earlier when she displayed the child’s medieval hairstyle in her Instagram Stories.
“Not sure this haircut went down well, but he’s Viking now,” she wrote at the time. “Hairstyle inspired by the last kingdom on Netflix which is a masterpiece.”
In another post on Instagram, Grimes shared a photo of her embrace with X Æ A-XII, who was looking at a picture of the futuristic Maschinenmensch robot from the 1927 film. Metropolis.
‘Tell me about the waters of your home world’, Grimes captioned the image and quoted the scientific novel Dune.
