Greta Thunberg suspends UN climate conference on ‘vaccination nationalism’ of Coronavirus

In November, world leaders will travel to Glasgow, Scotland, for the UN climate conference – but the world’s most famous climate activist, Greta Thunberg, has no plans to attend. In a Friday morning Twitter The 18-year-old said she would like to attend the conference but would refuse to do so when the global effects of vaccine remain so unequal. “Climate inequality and injustice are already at the heart of the climate crisis,” she wrote. “If people cannot be vaccinated and travel to become equal, it is undemocratic and will exacerbate the problem.” Thunberg said the British government should postpone the conference until more of the world’s population has access to vaccines. “We do not have to wait for conferences, nor do we need anyone or anything else to start reducing our emissions dramatically.” she wrote. British media have reported that the conference can be traced back to 2022, but the government is determined that as many as 30,000 people could attend.
