GREEN BAY, Wis. – Aaron Rodgers makes a return to ‘Jeopardy!’ This time, however, the Green Bay Packers fullback will be the host instead of a contestant.
He revealed on Tuesday that he had been asked to host an episode of his favorite games show – one in which he appeared in the well-known 2015 edition of the show.
Rodgers, who is preparing for the NFC playoff game Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams, mentioned it for the first time during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. He later apologized for announcing the news.

Trebek, the longtime host of the program, died of cancer on November 8 at the age of 80.
‘When the opportunity arose [for ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’] in 2015, I mean it was a dream come true – it really was – to be there, “Rodgers said. Meeting Alex was just such a special moment, and of course we are all sad about his passing. .
“There’s this nostalgic connection with certain figures in our lives based on our childhood and where we were and the times we had the memories. It makes these people feel almost like a family, as you know it.”
Rodgers compares the meeting to Trebek to the first time he met football announcers like Keith Jackson and Dan Fouts, who broadcast one of his college games in Cal, and Pat Summerall and John Madden when he joined the NFL.
‘We all have so much love and affection, I think, for what [Trebek] meant for that half hour, those 22 minutes of our lives on a daily basis for those of us who were big fans of the show, “Rodgers said. Being able to host me is really very special to me, and I can not wait for the opportunity. ‘
