Cuban health authorities recommend the public resort to natural medicine to alleviate the shortage of medicines in the island, according to the official media El Guerrillero.

The head of the Department of Provincial Medicines and New Technologies, Odalys Lorenzo Morejón, “insists on the use of natural and traditional medicine (MNT) as an alternative to various treatments and with great acceptance among the population”, recalls the note.

In Cuba, there was a general shortage of medicines due to the deep economic crisis that was sweeping the country.

According to its function, the “most pharmacological” groups are its oral, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory drugs “, which include popular drugs such as Dipirona, clordiazepoxide and antibiotics including amine.

Carlos Callava Couret, the Master in Science and Functioning of the MNT Program in the Provincial Health Directorate, said in mid-term that phytopharmaceuticals such as hair and nail polish can be used “as an alternative to anesthesia treatment”.

Callava Couret added that the organ and aloe have its capacities to prevent “respiratory infections”; and that the “extracts of mango red, llantén, romerillo, caña santa and aloe” can serve as immunomodulator and cicatrizante.

With respect to the tinturas, the officer is refired that the water and cane santa can reduce arterial hypertension. While guayaba is antiseptic and antidiarrheal.

It also removes the use of flour in combination with passion fruit, ginger and melito propole. As with the suggestion of traditional Chinese medicine (“acupuncture, moxas, vents, microsystems and catgut tubes”) as an alternative to the crisis of medicines.

Without embarrassment, the green medicine is also sometimes in the current state of affairs in Cuba, but the property notes that “many pharmacies are not available”.

The shortage of medicines is one of the most serious problems of the last year in Cuba. The people have agreed to the social reasons for the need to purchase medicines in short supply, while the state has lost production capacity, prioritizes exports and is not the first time to recommend natural medicine as a solution to the crisis.

“The basic set of medicines encounters quarantines, since then there are various measures, some products that are highly demanded and necessary for the population,” the official media said.

Recently, in Holguín, the authorities reported the circulation of a false medicine despite the fact that various patients went to medical institutions with secondary effects.

According to the authorities, “Clordiaze Poxido” is treated with 10 mg tablet, which does not correspond with the authorized and distributed Clordiazepoxide Cuban of 10 mg.

This medicine is one of the most sought after among the people of the island to soothe the urgency that implies taking the diarrhea life in the country. At the same time it is one of the most important.
