Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced today that 102,907 first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the past 24 hours. The total federal allocation of vaccine delivery to week 9 providers will be completed today. Today at 11 a.m., the distribution sites in New York received 2,192,675 first doses and have already administered 89 percent or 1,957,681 vaccinations in the first dose and 83 percent of the first and second doses. The 10th week of the federal government award begins mid-week.
“We remain trapped in a footprint between the infection rate and the vaccination rate, and although we are making significant progress in both areas thanks to the hard work of New Yorkers, we can not become complacent – this is not the time to get cranky. with COVID, ‘said Governor Cuomo. “With more than 10 million New Yorkers now eligible for the vaccine, we have the infrastructure to get it administered quickly and fairly, but we are still only held back by the offer . Fortunately, with true leadership now in Washington, we have begun to see supply increase and expect the trend to continue until New York is COVID-free. ‘
The ‘Am I Eligible’ selection tool has been updated for individuals with concomitant conditions and underlying conditions with new appointments being released on an ongoing basis over the coming weeks. From next week, local departments will also receive vaccines for these individuals. New Yorkers can use the following to indicate their eligibility:
- Doctor’s letter, or
- Medical information proving compassion, or
- Signed certification
About 10 million New Yorkers are currently eligible to receive the vaccine. The federal government increased its weekly supply by more than 20 percent next week, but the large distribution network in New York and the large population of eligible individuals still exceed the supply coming from the federal government. Due to the limited supply, New Yorkers are encouraged to be patient and are advised not to show up at the vaccination sites without an appointment.
The vaccination program numbers below are for doses distributed and delivered in New York for the state vaccination program, and do not include those reserved for the federal government’s long-term care program. A breakdown of the data based on numbers reported to New York State by 11 a.m. today is as follows. The allocation totals below contain 100 percent of the Week 9 award that will be distributed to New York provider sites today. The total week 9 allocation also includes some excess vaccine doses that have been re-allocated to the federal long-term care program.

To date, New York distribution sites have administered 89 percent of the first doses of the federal government, but due to the limited allocation from the federal government, the appointments have been quickly filled. New Yorkers who want to determine fitness and plan an appointment at a state-run mass vaccination center can visit the “Am I Eligible” website. New Yorkers can also call their local health department, pharmacy, doctor, or hospital for additional information and to schedule appointments where vaccinations are available.
The COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker Dashboard is available to keep New Yorkers informed of the spread of the COVID-19 vaccine. The New York Department of Health requires that vaccination facilities report all data on COVID-19 vaccine data within 24 hours; the data for vaccine administration on the dashboard are updated daily to reflect the most recent criteria in the state’s vaccination effort.
New Yorkers who suspect fraud in the vaccine distribution process can now call 833-VAX-SCAM (833-829-7226) toll-free or email the State Department of Health to: [email protected] Hotline staff will send complaints to the appropriate investigative agencies to ensure that New Yorkers are not exploited as the state works to vaccinate the entire population.
