Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced today that 183,984 first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the past 24 hours, a record high for the state. Furthermore, the governor announced that 5,143,219 first and second doses have been administered to date, of which 801,993 have been administered through state-controlled mass vaccination sites. Today at 11 a.m., New York suppliers have administered 95 percent of the first doses delivered so far. The Week 12 award from the federal government is currently being delivered to providers for administration.
“We work tirelessly to vaccinate New Yorkers as quickly and equitably as possible, with special attention to communities that have historically been under service, who suffered the most during this pandemic,” Governor Cuomo said. “Our extensive network of distribution sites, including 24/7 operations in certain communities, is getting more and more shots every day. With a true partner in the White House, I am confident that we will continue to increase our weekly allocations and we are ready for our increase proliferation efforts as soon as we get more doses. ‘
About 10 million New Yorkers are currently eligible to receive the vaccine. New York’s extensive distribution network and the large population of suitable individuals still exceed the supply coming from the federal government. Due to the limited supply, New Yorkers are encouraged to be patient and are advised not to show up at the vaccination sites without an appointment.
The ‘Am I Eligible’ selection tool has been updated for individuals with concomitant conditions and underlying conditions with new appointments being released on an ongoing basis over the coming weeks. New Yorkers can use the following to indicate their eligibility:
- Doctor’s letter, or
- Medical information proving compassion, or
- Signed certification
The numbers of the vaccination program below are for doses distributed and delivered for the New York State vaccination program, and do not include those reserved for the federal government’s long-term care program. A breakdown of the data based on numbers reported to New York State by 11 a.m. today is as follows. As of week 9, the grant totals include some excess vaccine doses that have been redistributed from the federal long-term care program. The allocation totals below contain 60 percent of the Week 12 award that will be available to New York distributors on Sunday.

So far, New York suppliers have administered 95 percent of the first doses of the federal government, but due to the limited allocation from the federal government, the appointments have filled up quickly. New Yorkers who want to determine fitness and can schedule an appointment at a state-run mass vaccination center can visit the “Am I Eligible” website. New Yorkers can also call their local health department, pharmacy, doctor, or hospital for additional information and to schedule appointments where vaccinations are available.
The COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker Dashboard is available to keep New Yorkers informed of COVID-19 vaccine distribution. The New York Department of Health requires that vaccination facilities report all data on COVID-19 vaccine data within 24 hours; the data on vaccine administration on the dashboard are updated daily to reflect the most recent measures in the state’s vaccination effort.
New Yorkers who suspect fraud in the vaccine distribution process can now call 833-VAX-SCAM (833-829-7226) free of charge or email the State Department at: [email protected]. Hotline staff will send complaints to the appropriate investigative agencies to ensure that New Yorkers are not exploited as the state works to vaccinate the entire population.
