Raleigh, NC Roy Cooper’s government will notify North Carolinas of the state’s coronavirus response at 3:30 p.m.
On Jan. 6, Cooper extends the home stay order and the evening clock from 10 p.m. to Jan. 29. In the course of time management, people should only leave their homes if necessary, including work and essential assignments.
During and after the holiday period, the state saw its highest daily case to date. As of Monday, January 11, the state averaged 8,430 new cases per day and 3,866 people treated in COVID-19 in hospitals.
Most of North Carolina’s 100 counties are classified as “red,” meaning they have critical levels of viral spread.

As things skyrocketed, the state’s effort to get people vaccinated against coronavirus started slowly.
Many counties began vaccinating senior citizens 75 years and older in the first week of January, but the walk-in and appointment-only vaccination clinics quickly ran out of available doses, often before the scheduled start time of the event.

Some counties, including Wake and Durham, will only start vaccinating elderly people under phase 1B next week. Wake County begins vaccinations on Jan. 19, the day a new web portal and phone line are launched to allow seniors 75 years and older to register to receive a vaccine.
On Monday, Rodney Jenkins, director of health in Durham County, said the county hopes to administer 500,000 doses by Memorial Day.
