In North Carolina, the GOP has lost several thousand people since the attack last Wednesday.
According to the State Council, 2,879 people left the Republican Party in North Carolina between January 6 and 11.
More than 2,400 of the people switched to non-aligned with 262 moving to the Democratic Party.
Predictably, Wake County had the most voters leaving the IDP, with 586 people changing their affiliation.
There were quite a few people who joined the GOP after January 6, with 742 people switching from non-aligned, constitutional, democratic or libertarian to Republican.
The Republicans therefore had a net loss of 2137 registered voters in North Carolina during that six-day period.
On the Democratic side, the party affiliation is not as dramatic, although the party has suffered a net loss.
Between January 6 and 11, 864 Democrats changed their affiliation. However, 722 voters switched from various parties to the Democratic Party, including 440 non-aligned voters. This is a net loss of 142 voters.
