Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., On Wednesday announced a formal appeal of the fines Nancy Pelosi, D-California, he made for refusing to follow the metal detector protector.
“Today, with the help of my private lawyer, I have appealed against the fines I have imposed as a result of my refusal to place the unconstitutional placement of magnetometers in front of the entrance to the floor of the House of Representatives. “Nancy Pelosi,” Clyde wrote. in a statement.
Clyde claims the installation of magnetometers was part of an effort to treat Republican lawmakers ‘as a threat.’
“The ongoing militarization of Capitol Hill, including the placement of metal fences, razor wire and the deployment of National Guard troops, is also part of this perverse strategy,” he wrote.

In a YouTube video, Clyde was concerned that the Democrats might introduce a path to legislation that would create a ‘litmus test’ for anyone who wants to serve in the military or government.
The Georgia congressman said he filed his appeal with the House Ethics Committee.
A spokesman for Pelosi’s office did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

As previously reported by Fox News, Republicans are urging Pelosi to pay her own fine for diverting the magnetometers.
A first offense results in a $ 5,000 fine. But continued compliance increases the fine to $ 10,000 for additional offenses.
The metal detectors were installed at the home following the Jan. 6 siege of Capitol Hill and were opposed by some Republicans from the beginning.
