Google TV brings new parental controls to its streaming device.

The company announced that from Monday, parents or guardians can now create individual profiles for each of the children in their households with their name and age or an existing Google account, would they have one. Some of these new profiles allow account holders to add specific apps, upload movies purchased on other devices, upload custom wallpapers, and add additional avatars to their user profile in the coming weeks.

Account holders have the ability to secure their normal accounts with a PIN to prevent their children from accessing more adult content from the user profiles. Parental controls for the child accounts also allow account holders to set daily screen periods as well as bedtime. Google says the child profiles will hit the device in the US this month, followed by a wider global launch ‘in the next few months’.
