Google Releases $ 499 Pixel 4a 5G in Clearly

Back in September, Google released a mmWave model of the Pixel 4a 5G that was only available from Verizon. In addition to the cellular radio that provides access to faster speeds, it is available in ‘Clearly White’, although the color now comes with the unlocked Pixel 4a 5G.

The “Just Black” Pixel 4a 5G is pretty simple, except for a light blue lock button. At launch, as with the $ 349 Pixel 4a, buyers were upset about the single color option.

If you want a different color, it’s just the acquisition of the Verizon unit. Sold in Clearly White with a coin button, the unit costs $ 100 more at $ 599, given the inclusion of mmWave for Verizon’s UW network.

Google tells The edge today, the $ 499 sub-6 Pixel 4a 5G arrives on January 28 in Clearly White. It is not yet listed in the Google Store for order, while an early B&H listing has been removed. It will probably also be available in the Google Fi store.

The Pixel 4a 5G has a 6.2-inch screen that is slightly larger than the Pixel 5. It is powered by a Snapdragon 765G with 6 GB of RAM and a 3,800 mAh. The latter two specifications are slightly worse than the flagship phone, but they are otherwise the same processor. Most important is also the dual lens setup of a 12.2MP rear camera and 16MP ultrawide. The 3.5mm headphone jack is an important component while not being wirelessly charged or IP waterproof.

Holiday and bargain buyers may feel a little overwhelmed that Google has introduced a new color to the gift season, but it’s only getting closer to February. This is because Google is aggressively encouraging people to get the Pixel 4a 5G.
