Google Photos is one of the most popular photo backup services out there. While free unlimited backup (ending soon) is probably the strongest draw, features like search and automated albums definitely give it an edge over the others. Reminders are still such a blessing and it is found even more important after last year’s refurbishment that put it at the top of the app. The feature recently started focusing on your favorite people and things, and now gets a new story with kids themed “Out to Play.”
The story is a collection of moments of children playing in the sun, as seen in the images below. It’s a fond memory of times when COVID-19 did not restrict young people from playing within four walls.
Memories provides a personal compilation of moments you have stored on the service. In the past, stories of people and the year under review have been shown. But given the theme of this story, you can see that it does not appear in your Google Photos app unless you have children. If you have taken enough photos of the fun on the playground, you can expect the app to give you a memory that will give you warm feelings.
