The Google Phone app pre-installed on Pixels and other smartphones is a real blessing for people who are constantly bothered by robo calls as it can block automatically. But the company has expanded its calling app with other features as well: it recently added call recording, which has been expanded to select phones and regions since early 2020. It seems that the developers are now working on automated recordings if you receive calls from strangers. numbers not in your contacts.
In a crash, XDA developers found strings proving that Google is currently conducting automated call recording. If you were to activate the feature as soon as it was live, you would see an indemnity warning you about legal consequences depending on your jurisdiction and that an audible alert would be sent to everyone on the line before the recording begins. Further strings indicate a confirmation dialog in which you can choose to “Always record” or “Cancel” if you change your mind. There should also be a link between settings.

As with any feature uncovered by an app shutdown, automatic call recording can change significantly before being activated or can be deleted completely without warning. Google has yet to officially announce or recognize the functionality.
