An office building at Google’s global headquarters in Mountain View, California, evacuated Friday after a report of a ‘suspicious package’, police said.

After an investigation, police later said the package is safe. Authorities have called in the Santa Clara province bombing team to help with the investigation. Police said they had removed people from the building, in Casey Avenue at the Googleplex, out of an abundance of caution.

Mountain View police did not comment further. A Google spokesman referred CNET to comments from Mountain View police.

This is not the first time police have been called in to investigate an incident on a Google campus. In 2018, a shooter terrorized YouTube’s headquarters in Google, San Bruno, California. The shooter was found dead because of police who allegedly inflicted a gunshot wound to himself. Three others were injured in the incident.
