Someone at B&H Photo Video jumped the gun and already mentioned Google’s next smartphone screen, the Nest Hub 2. know of the device, including its price.

The Hub 2 has a 7-inch screen (1024 x 600) accompanied by a surround EQ sensor and a new color sensor to optimize the output based on lighting. You will need to hear this even better now, as the device has a three-microphone array compared to the two microphones on its predecessor. However, the audio output appears to be a downgrade, at least on paper. The passive radiators found on the Nest Hub have bitten the dust and the primary driver is only 43.5mm larger.

There are some new sensors on board – a temperature sensor and a Soli radar. The former should be useful for setting up routines based on ambient temperatures (turn on the air conditioner if the temperature is above 80 ° F, for example). Although the list does not reveal what Soli will be used for, a previous report claimed that it had something to do with sleep detection and motion detection.

We can expect some processing upgrades and other cleverness, but these are not set out in the B&H list. What we do have is the price and the colors in which the smart screen will be available. In keeping with the Nest Audio, the Nest Hub 2 is available in Chalk, Charcoal, Mist and Sand (Sage is missing). However, this is not all that both devices have in common. If the listing is expected, they will also share a price of $ 99 – much lower than the $ 150 that the original Nest Hub cost.

There is no word on when the device will be officially announced, but the list shows that pre-orders will start from March 30th. So you will not be wrong if you hear about this from Google soon.
