Giovanna supports her well in Guilty Gear Strive Starter Guide

The Pig is in The Poke

Now I know you have all been waiting for this one. Today’s Guilty Gear Strive Arc System Works Getting Started Guide gives us all our first in-depth look at a strong hype, brand new, and all fan-favorite character, Giovanna, who will make her series debut when GG Streef begin this spring.

The sexy and stylish new fighter may seem like she’s stepped off the catwalk of Milan, but is actually a federal agent with the task of protecting some of the highest-ranking officials on the planet. Do not let that distract you from her, as Giovanna maintains her magnetism with a super cool attitude and a Good Boy named Rei, a spirit wolf who compliments Giovanna’s acrobatic fighting style.

Giovanna is designed as a beginner-friendly character and strangely avoids projectiles and fights with a series of famous kicking attacks. Giovanna has variations on Guile’s Flash Kick, Terry Bogard’s Crack Shoot and even Chun Li’s Spinning Bird Kick. To prevent it from being singled out, Giovanna can launch a Cannon Spike-like attack that destroys fireballs. Without projectiles, it is up to players to put the opponent under pressure with active progress before mixing it with a variety of flashing combinations and throws. From this video I am a few worried about Giovanna’s series and options compared to other characters, but this is of course the earliest of the days, so we’ll see. And we WILL see, as you can guarantee a real circus of Giovannas online comes beta.

The Guilty Gear Strive beta is February 18 for all PS4 and PS5 players – regardless of PlayStation Plus status. Customers who pre-order can jump into the action a day earlier on February 17th. Guilty Gear Strive launches April 9 on PS4, PS5 and PC via Steam.
