Gingrich says Maxine Waters, far left, is becoming more radical: “Why should we tolerate violence?”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich responded to a video of Rep. ‘Fox & Friends’ on Monday. Maxine Waters, D-California, urging police against protesters to get more ‘confrontation’.

GINGRICH: ‘VERY DANGEROUS TIME’ WITH POLICE CLOSING, ESPECIALLY FOR MINORITIES

NEWT GINGRICH: As a civilization you offer either security or you are disbanded. And we both had with Rashida Tlaib, who asked for the abolition of the police and the elimination of prisons, which is a position of total insanity. And now you have it of course [Maxine] Waters that have always been on the left. But what has happened is with each passing day – the more patient we are, the more radical they are.

So there’s been more than a year of violence in Portland, Oregon. You have an expectation of violence. Why should we expect violence if the criminal justice system works? Why do we have to endure violence? Why should we tolerate shooting at national guards?

I think we really need to think about our whole approach to making sure we prevent people from being violent, if necessary, by doing the opposite of what Rashida Tlaib wanted and actually enlarging the prisons. You can not have a country that is crooked in fear and radicals that wander around and openly encourage violence.
