Gina Carano’s character will not be recreated in ‘The Mandalorian’: report

Last week, Gina Carano was fired from ‘The Mandalorian’ after posting a controversial image on social media.

The actress played Cara Dune in the Star Wars series and according to IndieWire, a Disney spokeswoman confirmed that her character will not be rearranged for the upcoming third season.

Earlier this week, Carano revealed that she was sidelined for the second season during the press promotion after she and Lucasfilm (which produces the show and is owned by Disney) clashed.

The 38-year-old said in her Common Sense newsletter to former New York Times opinion columnist and editor Bari Weiss that Lucasfilm was not happy with Carano’s behavior on social media.

Carano claims the friction started at Lucasfilm in November when she changed her Twitter profile and added ‘peep / bop / boep’ as her pronouns, which some people interpret as a mockery of the transgender community.

The former MMA fighter claims that Lucasfilm wants her to write an apology written by their team.

“Earlier last year before ‘The Mandalorian’ appeared, they wanted me to use their exact wording as an excuse to use pronouns. I refused and offered a statement in my own words. I made it clear that I did not wants to do with the mockery of the transgender community, and has only drawn attention to the abuse of the mob to force people to put pronouns in their bio, ‘she explained.

“This was the last time I was contacted about any form of public statement or apology from Lucasfilm,” Carano added.

According to her, she found out via social media that she had been fired.

A Lucasfilm spokeswoman said in a statement by Variety on February 10: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts ‘People are downplayed because their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.’

The Instagram post in question contains a message in which she compares the political separation of today with the events in Nazi Germany.

In the wake of her shooting, Carano was also abandoned by her talent agency UTA, and Hasbro apparently scrapped plans to make more toys based on her scientific character.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, retailer BigBadToyStore noted that the company no longer produces action figures of Carano’s character in light of recent events, forcing him to cancel pre-orders.

“The Star Wars Black Cara Dune figure was released in 2020 and sold out not long after the stock was received,” a BigBadToyStore spokesman told the outlet on Monday. “Hasbro has planned for another production period and we are accepting pre-orders from that production period. Due to recent events, Hasbro has not been approved to deliver more of this figure.”

Carano’s dismissal of Disney prompted many fans of both her and ‘The Mandalorian’ to sign a petition from Change.org asking Disney to reverse its decision to fire the actress.

Despite calls to reinstate her, Carano has already switched from “The Mandalorian”. According to Deadline, the Disney actress strikes back and cancels his culture by collaborating with Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire on a new film project.

Lucasfilm did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
