Carano’s controversial Twitter messages kept her in entertainment news throughout The Mandalorian Season 2, as she frequently used the social media platform to share her thoughts on social and political issues, often related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The former MMA fighter for women has split her followers, with hashtags on either side of the aisle – #FireGinaCarano and #WeLoveCaraDune / #IStandWithGinaCarano – all becoming popular over the past few weeks.

Twitter users made #FireGinaCarano trend again amid the Star Wars apparent reaction of the actress to the situation in Washington DC Although Carano did not post anything about the political unrest on her profile, she shared ‘multiple’ posts by apparent riot supporters.

It caused a lot Mandalorian fans to respond to The Walt Disney Company’s own statement, written by CEO Bob Chapek.

Today, Carano returned to social media and posted a GIF with a quote from The princess bride (1987) on her Twitter account. The short clip from the film features Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright) asking Westley (Cary Elwes), “Then why is there fear behind your eyes?” It certainly seems as if Carano is responding to the unrest commentary on her social media activity that has been circulating for the past few days.

Other commentators, such as RMH III, have expressed concern about Carano’s apparent lack of concern about the coronavirus outbreak:

Gina, I do not like people and I’m not going to give you a minute shit about COVID, but 350,000 people have died from this disease and most of the transmission is from people who are not symptomatic. Other countries that have locked up have suffered far less than we have suffered.

Blossom Torres has shared thoughts that may echo many Mandalorian fans – not agreeing with some of Carano’s personal posts, but a love for New Republic Marshal Cara Dune, her Mandalorian character:
