Gibraltar, located on the Iberian Peninsula on the south coast of Spain, with an area of only 2.6 square kilometers and 33,701 inhabitants, reached the milestone on Wednesday when Prime Minister Fabian Picardo thanked the United Kingdom for his contribution to the rollout. of vaccines.
Every dose of jab administered in Gibraltar was supplied by the British Government and delivered by the Royal Air Force.

British Health Minister Matt Hancock told the House of Commons that he was “delighted to be able to tell the House that Gibraltar yesterday became the first nation in the world to complete its entire adult vaccination program.”

Picardo said: “The loyalty of the people of Gibraltar to the crown of the United Kingdom is and will never be called into question. In these troubling and difficult times, our deep loyalty has been recognized and repaid.”
