Giant lizard goes to the supermarket, wild video goes viral

Godzilla vs. Kong ”was not the only giant lizard drama this week.

A massive Asian water monitor has scared buyers after undertaking a “King of the Monsters” -like rampage through a 7-Eleven in Bangkok, Thailand. The original video tweet of the incident was viewed nearly a million times before being removed.

The terrifying clip, posted on Facebook, shows the monster reptile scaling down a shelf of milk, knocking down cartons and screaming at spectators.

‘The shelves are ruined! Oh my God, ‘a voice can be heard shouting over the reptile interloper, who according to Everything Reptiles, up to 8 feet long, is the second largest lizard in the world after the Komodo dragon.

The clip is closed with the water monitor resting on top of the shelf, near the ceiling, while bystanders fork in the background.

Fortunately, despite their massive size, the opportunistic predators do not pose a threat to adults, but choose to eat everything from eggs to small mammals and bait, according to experts from the University of Michigan Museum of Zoology . (However, a dead baby was found in May 2020 in part by monitors in southern Thailand.)

Nevertheless, the scaly shopping spree has left social media in a dark.

“Godzilla are real guys,” one social media viewer wrote. Another describes the scene as a nightmare. ‘

“If you’m hungry, visit 7-Eleven, right?” teased a comedian on social media with reference to the motto of the convenience store chain.

It is unknown why the lizard entered the store in the first place, although some speculate that it is trying to escape the humid outside temperatures.

This is not the first time a monitor lizard has frightened people. In 2016, the Bangkok Post overran Lumpini Park in Bangkok and damaged the flora.

Meanwhile, a monitor in a now viral grip from a Japanese games show has been detached from female contestants carrying meat results on their heads.
