Gianforte revokes some COVID restrictions

Governor Greg Gianforte on Wednesday issued a new guideline to replace several prescriptions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The governor’s directive repeals some restrictions on small businesses in Montana, including restrictions on working hours and capacity.

In a news release, Gianforte said: “Small business owners across Montana have worked to create a safe environment for their employees and customers while keeping doors open. The new directive recognizes the range of challenges facing businesses in this pandemic. ‘, giving them the flexibility to develop and implement appropriate policies based on best practices in the industry.’

The directive replaces the 25-person limit on public gatherings with simple guidelines that “any public gathering or event must be conducted in such a way that it meets the guidelines for CDC social distance.”

Where best practices in the industry do not exist, the governor’s mandate states that ‘such policies shall be developed and implemented in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and guidelines.’

Gianforte also outlined a way to revoke the mandate for the entire mask. First, the most vulnerable Montanane are vaccinated. Second, the legislature is sending to its desk a measure to protect businesses and schools from lawsuits if they exercise good faith in protecting individuals from the spread of coronavirus and following clear public health guidelines.

The new clue will take effect on Friday, January 15 at 5 p.m. Click here to read the full document.

“Improving our response to the pandemic has been my top priority,” Gianforte said. ‘Today I issue a new assignment that removes or replaces the cumbersome layers of the existing one. These new guidelines are clear. This is practical. That’s wise. And it’s easy to understand. ”
