Germany is very concerned about the health of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, said Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“The German government, along with others, is insisting that it receive adequate medical treatment,” she told the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Tuesday.

Merkel also said that a Russian troop buildup on the border with Ukraine was creating a “disturbingly tense” situation and said it was important to hold a dialogue on the issue.
