ATHENS – PJ Horne recorded an incoming pass from Sahvir Wheeler with 1.3 seconds left to beat Georgia 63-62 over Kentucky on Wednesday night.

UGA’s first win over Kentucky since 2013 broke a 14-game losing streak in the series, leading to a kind of festival usually reserved for March Madness.

“We believed we were going to win,” Crean said. “I’m proud of the way they locked up and executed in the end.”

Wheeler’s first attempt to enter the ball went awry and he was forced to call another time-out, which led Crean to draw another play in the mess.
The second time was the charm. The Bulldogs lined up in a straight line, and Wheeler found that Horne cut to the basket.
Horne, a 6-foot-6 pole who spent most of the game on the perimeter to chase his 3-point shot, took care of the rest and laid down the ball after initially bouncing the pass.
Garcia, a graduate transfer from Stony Brook, led Georgia with 16 points and 6 rebounds.

Wheeler, however, kept the UK at a distance with two-basket interruption as UGA interrupted the lead.
The Bulldogs return to Florida in Athens at 2 p.m.
