Georgia is the fourth state to suspend Johnson & Johnson vaccine

A coronavirus vaccine in Georgia this week became the fourth place in the U.S. to interrupt the administration of the Johnson & Johnson stick after concerns about possible adverse reactions.

Eight people experienced lightheadedness after getting the chance at the Cumming Fairgrounds on Wednesday, although health officials believe it could have been caused simply by the hot weather, reports WSB-TV.

“It was a faint problem,” North Georgia Health District spokesman Dave Palmer told the outlet.

“We do not think it has anything to do with the vaccine. These are probably more environmental factors, ”said Palmer.

The report said less than 2% of the 435 people who received the vaccine had adverse reactions.

“The facility is hard to cool down, and we have fans there, but it was a hotter day,” Palmer told the station. ‘I think the heat may have affected some of it. We’m not sure. ”

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine was also discontinued last week at locations in Colorado, North Carolina and Iowa.
