George Clooney reveals why he refused to give his twins Alexander and Ella ‘strange’ names’

It is not uncommon for celebrities to give their children unique, and sometimes bizarre, names with a not so obvious meaning.

But it turns out George Clooney had none of that when he and his wife Amal Alamuddin welcomed their twins into the world three-and-a-half years ago.

The famous actor’s reason was that life under the glare of his fame would be trouble for his children without having strange names.

Known as the eternal bachelor in the early years of his career, he put the single, female male persona on his head when he married Alamuddin in September 2014.

He then earned the title ‘family man’ when the couple became the parents of twins in June 2017 – a boy and a girl.

When the two-time Oscar winner decided to name their children, they insisted that they do not follow the unusual naming trend; so they decide on Alexander and Ella.

“I did not want such a strange name for our children. They are already going to have enough problems. It’s hard to be the son of someone who is famous and successful, ‘The Descendants star explained in an interview with AARP.

Clooney’s confession comes after spending a good nine months in quarantine amid the COVID-19 pandemic in his Los Angeles home.

Like many people during lockdown, the actor paid a lot of attention to his children, and he started making time for things he put off.

One of his lesser-known talents is casual sewing, which has been in use since the coronavirus was considered a pandemic in mid-March 2020.

“I work a lot on the children’s clothes,” Clooney said in the February / March issue of the magazine. ‘And my wife’s dress that tore a few times. I was single for a long time and had no money, and you have to learn how to fix things. ‘

He also revealed that after years of repairing his wife’s torn dress to teach himself to do repairs himself as a longtime bachelor.

The actor made himself useful in the house while the family sank into a locked place and decided to stain the furniture and interiors and exteriors of his house.

‘It got sloppy, and I had buckets of stain, and I was like,’ Well, what else am I going to do? “It made me feel better. ‘I put chicken wire everywhere in the dog yard,’ he said.

The pandemic also did not stop its passion for writing letters.

The actor and his wife will also exchange letters every few months, which is a tradition that continues despite the health crisis.

“Even if I lock up, I’m going to write a letter and put it on her desk, otherwise she’s writing a letter and leaving it under the pillow,” he said of their romantic gestures to keep the relationship spontaneous.
