Genshin Impact Unveils Update 1.3 Details

It feels like the 1.2 update of Genshin Impact just came out last month (because it did happen), but Mihoyo is already releasing details on the next update 1.3. The new update will include the annual Lantern Rite Festival, a new playable character and various festival activities.

To kick off the event, meet Xiao, the new playable character, for a storytelling tour after which you can return to the decorated harbor to take part in the Lantern Rite Festival. The festival adds a tower defense minigame for up to two players called Theater Mechanicus, which will give you event-specific currency to spend in the event market.

There is also a daily photography challenge to take part in, called the Five Flushes of Fortune, which can provide you with the essential Primogems. According to Mihoyo, the Lantern Rite Festival will also give you the chance to choose a four-star character from Liyue without spending your jewels. If you need help choosing, check out the list of Genshin Impact character levels from RPS.

The new character Xiao is a polar arm user with the anemo element who wants to get his own character event, and wants you to tie him up when the update goes down in February.

You can watch the trailer above to see how Liyue Harbor was changed for the festival, but for the full lineup of Lantern Rite, check out the video program that Mihoyo has put together. They also handed out some Primogem codes during the video, and I know how important it is, so here you go, three codes that are lovingly transcribed and tested by you:

  • jsSK8n23jzR
  • dU2mhjQL1ZT
  • nBEm3myAL2b

They will receive you a total of 300 Primogems on the redemption website and are good until January 22 at 20:00 PST, which is 23:00 GMT. It’s only a few hours left.

Genshin Impact Update 1.3 “All That Glitters” will be released on February 3rd.
