The developer of Genshin Impact, MiHoYo, has seen an example of a few events that players can look forward to next week with Hu Tao’s release.
Genshin Impact developer MiHoYo has announced that new in-game opportunities will come along with the release of Hu Tao next week. The studio finally announced yesterday that Hu Tao will be the next playable character to join the game. Fans of Genshin Impact was expecting MiHoYo to confirm Hu Tao’s release during the game’s 1.3 update, after several rumors and leaks about the character appeared in the weeks before and after the release of the update.
The current 1.3 update of the game started almost a month ago with the launch of Xiao and the launch of the Lantern Rite Festival event. But unlike previous updates, in which several new characters were released, Xiao was the only new character announced for the patch before it was released earlier this month. Despite this, fans were still hoping that MiHoYo would finally release another new character before the end of the 1.3 update. The studio finally confirmed this before the release of the patch, but did not disclose what character would be added to the game until yesterday.

MiHoYo announced the new events for the next phase of the 1.3 update on the Genshin Impact Twitter account with an example of some things players can look forward to for the rest of the update’s lifetime. First, the studio finally unveiled the banner where players can summon Hu Tao, ‘Moment of Bloom’, which will also feature three already available 4-star characters, namely Chongyun, Xingqui and Xiangling. As with every character, players will try Hu Tao as well as two of the other characters in the character trial.

Hu Tao’s story task, called “Papilio Charontis”, has also been announced for release along with the character, giving players the chance to learn more about the new Pyro pole arm user. Players will also have the chance to earn Primogems and other rewards with the new expedition event “Vishaps and Where to Find Them”, the name of which is of course a play in the film series that the Harry Potter franchise.
Apart from the new events, the running weapon banner “Epitome Invocation” has been expanded to coincide with the rest of phase 2 of the 1.3 update, which is expected as the banner considered to be the best weapon of Hu Tao (ten least now). The banner also features new weapons that are quite unique in that their stats increase as the player includes more Liyue-based characters in the party.
There is definitely a bit more for players to experience before the current patch ends and Genshin Impact continues its 1.4 update sometime next month. Although the 1.3 update was relatively smaller compared to its immediate predecessor, which added a brand new region in Dragonspine, the Lantern Rite Festival could still offer at least some entertaining activities to players, especially the Theater Mechanicus tower defense. games.
