The developers of Genshin Impact, miHoYo, have filled PS5 consoles to hold a great gift for their employees. The company distributed technology such as PS5 consoles, Switch consoles, iPhones and RTX GPUs to its employees via a lottery system. [Thanks, ZhugeEX!]
According to analysts Daniel Ahmad, miHoYo held the gift at its annual employee meeting. In the spirit of Genshin Impact, PS5s and other technical hardware were given away via a gacha system. However, the format did not have to be brutal. The hardware was all in a limited amount (especially the PS5s), so the giving away had to be done this way. The employee bonuses were a way to thank the workers of the studio for the successful year the company had in 2020.
Daniel Ahmad said in his tweets: “Due to limited stock, they used a lottery / gacha system.” Ahmad also explained: “This system is for these one-time gifts only, not for any other financial compensation / bonuses they earn.”
Genshin Impact is now available for PlayStation 4, PC and mobile devices. A Nintendo Switch port is up and running.
